The Innes Clan Society was founded July 29, 1984 at the Virginia Scottish Games in Alexandria, Virginia, U.S.A. It was organized by five members of the Innes/Innis families living in the immediate area of Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
The society is non-sectarian and non-partisan. It’s purpose is threefold.
- To research, collect, preserve and share literary, historical, and genealogical records, documents and relics relating to the Innes Clan.
- To honor our heritage.
- To inspire among our members and descendants the pride and spirit of our Scottish ancestors.
Dues are currently $20.00 (U.S.) anually for regular members and $40.00 for sustaining members. Dues are also accepted in British pounds and Canadian dollars.
A quarterly newsletter, The Bullrush, is published for the membership. It contains historical articles about the clan, announcements, and news of member’s activities.
An annual gathering is held at various locations.
The society genealogist is available to assist members with their family histories.
